Maths in the inclusive classroom : book 2 / Jodie Parsons and Yvonne Reilly.
"In a typical middle years classroom it is unlikely that every student will be at the expected developmental level for that year group. Teachers trying to deliver maths across many years of mathematical development face a daunting task which often leaves them 'teaching to the middle' in the hope that most students will have their learning needs met. The authors of 'Maths in the inclusive classroom' - middle years maths teachers who have faced exactly this problem - provide a practical solution that ensures genuine differentation in the heterogeneous classroom. The lesson format provides opportunities for every student in the class to learn at their own level. All students work on a similar learning outcome, but at a 'just right' level that maximises their opportunity to learn. Each lesson has tasks at three different levels: below level, at level and beyond level. All demands of the Australian National Curriculum for mathematics are provided for. Included in each book are unit planners, lesson plans, student topic assessment sheets and teacher tracking documents. The CD contains all the planning, assessment and tracking sheets plus all the student resource sheets for the activities." - Back cover "In a typical middle years classroom it is unlikely that every student will be at the expected developmental level for that year group.
